Dear Friends

Pushkarams, which occur once in 12 years, is now starting for the Holy River Krishna from 27th of this month. It is also called as Kumbhmela. Most of you might have remembered that we have done excellently last year for the Pushkar of River Godavari with the help of the local persons at Narsapuram in West Godavari District. It was a two day long activity which included performing of rituals and offering of oblations to the departed souls. Besides this one day full time yagna was also performed for the betterment of the society and all the participants.

This year pushkar is taking place at Vijayawada – my native place. During last time pushkar which took place in 1992 grand arrangements were made where shelter was created for many pilgrims on the banks of River Krishna; annadaana; free distribution of medicines and literature concerning the Pushkar; and distribution of clothes to the deserving poor.

Due to a recent accident I am finding it difficult to move out freely for the last ten days and as such much could not be done. Any way since THIS HAPPEN TO BE A RARE OCCASION WHICH COMES ONLY ONCE IN 12 YEARS, we have chalked out the program as below.

Assembly of all near and dear at Vijayawada by Evening of 4th September – Saturday. For easiness one may call to my cell No 94404 22613 or call on my associate Shri Narayana Rao on land line 0866 5562072 or cell No 9885332072 for assistance. He is making arrangements for comfortable stay at Vijayawada where from the Holy River Krishna is just 1 km. We will be taking bath in Holy river and perform all rituals on 5th and complete the same by 1.00 p.m. and there afterwards leave by a bus to Machilipatnam while taking darshan of SRIKAKULA ANDHRA MAHAVISHNU AT SRIKAKULAM ON THE BANKS OF RIVER KRISHNA AND ALSO VISITING SIDDHENDRA KUCHIPUDI KALASHETRAM. We are taking rest at Machilipatnam that night and in the morning going for SEA BATH and taking darshan of Lord PANDURANGA VITTAL IN CHILAKALAPUDI. By 1.00 p.m. we will be leaving Machilipatnam and reaching Vijayawada to catch Intercity Express on 6th which will enable us to reach Hyderabad by night.

This is the program in brief. I request all interested persons to inform us in advance so that necessary arrangements can be made by us. We are not sure, but we are trying for taking special permission to take darshan of Goddess Kanakadurga at Vijayawada. But surely there will be enough rush and by all means it may not be possible for an easy darshan.

Persons who are interested to offer oblations in absentia too can inform us the names and other particulars so that we will arrange to do our best through the priests who are being engaged specially for the purpose.

We are also planning to perform a YAGNA AT MACHILIPATNAM but again this depends on the time and other matters. Please inform me anything I can do for you all in this regard.
